  • 337RLS Axle

Could someone provide the axle rating for the 337RLS? Can’t seem to find it online and I am comparing this unit to a Solitude 310GK. THANKS

ckreef -- you've got a brand new 337. What are the axle ratings? (Should be a big 'ol sticker right in the center of the axle with the rating.)

Brand new 2021 337rls. Axles rated at 6,000 lbs. Times 2 equals 12,000 lbs. If you max out the 337rls and only put 20% on your pin then the axles only have to carry 11,196 lbs. They could have put high rated axles but those will carry the weight.

If I'm not mistaken smaller Solitude s_class come with 7,000 lb axles with a GVWR 15,000. After a 20% pin weight they'll carry the weight but still could have been bigger.

        Basically the same axle situation.

Matching the axle capacity to the weight carried means that the trailer gets the smoothest ride possible. All the spring compression range can be used to absorb road impacts. Stronger than necessary springs means less spring compression on the bumps and a rougher ride for the trailer.

Quite a while ago, members of this forum got deep into figuring out the ideal spring strength and compression range. Basically, it comes down to "loaded arch height" which is not that difficult to measure. Lots more info in this thread https://gdrvowners.com/forum/referen...-height-how-to for anyone who wants to measure their springs.

There are definitely springs out there that do not measure up to what they should be. This is a quality problem, not a spring specification problem.
