I'm looking for the "Parts" and "Repair" manuals for my 2021 Model 2970RL. Do they exist? GD does not appear to have them available on their site.

Thank you for the reply John. Yes, they do have a few things on their site, however if you want to do something like replace a slide motor for example, they do not have the procedure, nor the parts listed. I'd like to have something like a Chilton's or Haynes repair manual for the "do-it-yourself" crowd. As a retired aircraft mechanic, I do not know much about RVs, however I do believe that I can get by just fine with a little help from a repair manual. I'm also sure that there are large numbers of mechanically inclined folks out there who would also benefit from such a thing. Shelling out150+ bucks an hour at an RV dealership is something I prefer to avoid.

With your experience, the videos will be more than adequate.
I’d recommend a physical configuration audit of your rig, so you know the models of all of your components and the locations of things like fuses, breakers and control boards. Things like slide controllers can be in very obscure places and trying to find them while you are stressed out is absolutely not a fun way to spend a day.
The thing that always slows me down is not having the proper spare parts or supplies. I try to carry everything I think I might need, but it just gets overwhelming quickly.

You make a couple of great points John. We did a visual search of as many components as possible back when we first bought it, but YouTube videos are an interesting thought. I'll have to look into it, thanks.
I think that GD should create an illustrated parts manual, (available to the public), for the sections they are responsible for building though ...or at least create an online version. But I suppose selling campers isn't like cars. They don't make them in the hundreds of thousands, consequently creating such a manual would be cost prohibitive.

If you have general knowledge of working on aircraft mechanical systems like ailerons, flaps, etc then you probably will not have much of a hard time figuring out the mechanical side of things. Most mechanical systems are simple gears and motors until you get into appliances. If you have hydraulic slides and / or jacks, that's a little more complicated, but not far off from airplane hydraulic controls (probably much more simple though). Being a mechanic you probably have a decent understanding of how a test meter and tools work. If you start reading and working back you will find many post where members are asking questions to other members helping educate them on how to use their test meters or other tools to perform task. It's usually mentioned that if you are not comfortable working on a system, then make it comfortable or seek professional help.
Most of the RV systems electrically are pretty simple wiring wise. Control boards are just like anything else, check communication (wiring is not broke or shorted) then board output. If those check out, then it's most likely the end component being powered.
When in doubt, stop and ask while looking for a video or manual. There are a lot of members here that have either been through the problem, been through something similar, or will help diagnose and repair.
Most important thing is to not get aggravated at what you are dealing with. Stay close to your comfort zone but be open to venture with help as needed.
And never stop enjoying the camper, when you stop enjoying it then it's time to move on to something else because then it's more of a chore than relaxation.Joseph

I agree with Joseph, chances are someone here has fixed or upgraded It already and folks are very good at providing links to the part/tool required. Hang on to your wallet!
