So, after using a friend's AUH, I decided to go with the the AUH myself. Ordered the standard version, but noticed that on the hitch itself, near the ball assembly where you set the height of the ball there is a hex screw, which he did not have on his. I feel like I should have some instructions on this but don't. I can tell it is to help secure the ball assembly, but have no idea how tight or torqued it should be? TIA.

Assuming you're talking about the two hex bolts towards the front of the truck, they are 60 ft-lbs.

Those I am familiar with. I have a message into Andersen as well on it. On the hitch where you adjust the ball height (three positions) half way down the tube facing rear of truck is a hex screw on that tube. I have figured out it tightens the ball in place so it doesn’t rattle, but have not seen anything related to torque on it, if any. Thanks2022 RAM 2500 Laramie 4x4 CC 6.7L

Any chance you could attach a picture of what you are describing? Unless Andersen has recently added a new bolt, I for one am confused about the description. I think most of us that use the AUH are only dealing with three hex bolts located on the hitch to truck ball mount (60ftp) and only a pin securing the height of the ball mounted in the AUH.

Looks like Andersen added a set screw to firm up the ball, I like it. With the absence of information on this new feature I would think 30– 40 lbs. of torque is a good number.Retired Tanker Yanker
