We bought a 2023 F250 superduty 4x4 and need a hitch for 5th wheel. We do NOT have puck, and was told only 1 hitch will work. Is this true?

Not to my knowledge. Most manufacturers have hitches that will work with Industry Standard Rails or ISR. These would need to be installed in the bed of the truck and the hitch mounts on to them. Another option is a a turnover ball type setup which would also require the structure to be mounted under the bed and a hole cut for the ball. B&W sells quite a few of these. You don't mention the length of your bed so maybe someone is suggesting you can only use a slider hitch. I most cases with the new Ford and Chevy/GM super duty models this is not really true either. In any event you have tons of options out there.

I think there are several options out there: https://pullrite.com/2332

this will get you a puck system. The mounts may be pull rite specific or could be a standard.

rally you can install the factory pucks aftermarket, so that's an option or a rail mount as suggested. I just did a rail install on my in laws F150 and it was pretty straightforward. I saw in the other thread you have a 295RL. That's a 150 Reflection and probably comes with a turning point pin box (same as my in laws). That'll limit your hitch choice somewhat unless you lock out the pin box rotation, which you may or may not be able to do depending on your bed length.

Edit here is the puck kit from Ford:
