Trucks are designed to “sag” as the springs absorb the load. Many times, this helps to tow the trailer level. Before you add air bags . . . see if you really want to lift the front of your trailer by this much.

I tow a travel trailer, so I can level back up with the spring bars. But when I was towing a FW, I hated that my headlights were aimed too high with the fiver in tow. If I ever get another fiver, I'll certainly invest in airbags. Lots of owners have, so hopefully some will speak up about their experiences and recommendations.

I don't seem to have any issues with the front of my 18 riding high with the 5er. I did alter my hitch location a bit though to move load to the front instead of taking it off as the hitch dealer (not the same place we got the GD from) had it set. Check that the hitch in the truck is set properly and is far enough forward to distribute the load. I don't think the F250's come with helper springs so you may explore that option. something like https://activesuspension.com/?gad=1&...SAAEgLr9vD_BwE or https://www.superspringsinternational.com/shop/ssa40/
For those with Bumper Pull units: Even with out bumper pull on the 04, 06, 17, and 18 as long as I set the bars correctly, never had issues with the truck being set for "night squirrel hunting". Pay close attention to how the WDH is setup and what needs to be done to keep the truck in check. If you have the option go for a heavier set of bars as more than likely you will find that the tongue weight of the unit and the "ready to go" tongue weight can be extremely different.Joseph

An older thread, but might be of interest (even though it's a travel trailer): https://gdrvowners.com/towing-and-hi...wing-a-315rltsForum moderators are not GD employees--we are volunteers and owners presumably just like yourself. I have airbags on my F250 for a bumper pull. I thought they would help more than they do. It did help the truck sit a little higher in the rear. I did have to re-adjust my WD hitch to the new ride height. The front still increases height by about 3/4" to 1" and I let the rear sink about 1" with bags. I do adjust pressure based on tongue weight. I want the ride height to remain constant regardless of what I tow. Probably not necesssary but it makes me feel better.Allen
