      I have been trying to figure out how my truck could have the same rear axle capacity but less front axle capacity which reduces payload. The answer is in the window sticker that you posted. Snow plow prep package . . . I did not order that.

        2017 was the year that the Super Duty went to aluminum bodies.

          There is more to the mystery - many I looked at physically including the door sticker did not have snow plow prep, but still have 12k GVW. It's almost as though the manufacturers do not consider the yellow sticker numbers meaningful, given how impossible it is to know ahead of time what the heck they will be.
