Hi All:
Question: Do any of you have a newer Ford Super Duty with Wheel Well Liners and had a B&W (or similar) Turnover Ball Hitch installed? If so, did they have to cut your liner, or did the factory notch expose the lever adequately?
Explanation: I got the Anderson Hitch installed in my truck with a B&W Turnover Ball. When they installed the turnover ball, they cut into my wheel well liner, which looks both unnecessary and sloppy. According to the Service Manager, they sometimes cut into the liner in order to provide access to the Turnover Ball Lever. However, the Ford Liners were designed with a notch already there, presumably for this very purpose. What's more, the technician didn't even expose the lever itself with the cut. He stopped short of the lever, along with dragging his blade across the painted metal backing of the bed/wheel well, which now exposes the metal for rust.
I sent the Service Manager photos of the damage. Hopefully he does the right thing. But I'm curious if anyone here has the same liners, and if so, did you have to cut the liner to access the lever?
Thanks for looking this over!
