Will run many more miles than a higher rated engine when properly cared for. At this level, there is no leather or moonroof or gadget electronics. But they come as a crew cab, have rear air ride available, and will turn much tighter than a 3500. 4X4 is an option. They are priced quite a bit less than say a loaded Denali DRW. You would need to add some sort of bed as they all come ready for a bed rather than with one.

I want to commend you for a factual recommendation to the other brand. That is what makes the place so great. No bashing, just facts
    Safe travels

Have you made a decision yet? Ford has really upped the game with the 2023. The order bank should be open soon.

    Lots of other videos.

BTW the cargo capacity of my SRW F350 CC long bed King ranch is 4026 lbs

I think there is another thread on the features here somewhere.

Just trying to spend you money

I'm staying in half ton land where GM has not begun to make the double cabs so far. Pacific Blue is a great color and the dirty max (as we called them) is a great engine. Follow the manual and treat it right and you will be happy. Check out this engineer that makes a living through a business hauling RVs. Just imagine how many battery packs this fellow would have purchased in an EV version of these HD trucks.

Great thread. I love the truck debate being a car restorer and auto enthusiast. I ordered a new 2022 Sierra AT4 Crew Long Bed Duramax 3500 last March. Took 8.5 weeks to get here. It's the new Pacific Blue color. I've been yanking my 40' 16K lb Montana all over CO and MT this summer and the truck is a beast. The ride is so much more comfortable than my friends new Ford and Dodge trucks plus I don't have to deal with the death wobble on those straight front axles. Interior noise is minimal and the power and towing brute force is amazing with the new Allison 10-speed. Love this truck to pieces. The interior is cool with the AT4 stitching and accents and I have totally fallen in love with the multi-pro tailgate. I didn't know if I would like it but now I love it.

Last week I traded in the Montana and am now a new owner and GD fan of the 2022 Reflection 303RLS. My truck just laughs at the weight and size of this camper after pulling the Montana through the CO mountains and up Teton Pass. As far as the screen debate....that always makes me smile. The screen size is perfect for me to see the Navigation and my radio stations......I'm not watching a movie in the truck while driving. Lol. I'd rather have the other features than digital dashes and other very complex features that malfunction like I've seen in my friend's trucks. Give me something that works like crazy, is comfortable to ride in, and looks good while doing it!

I ordered it with all the towing bells and whistles. It has the 2" lift kit and the oversized 20" wheels and tires. It also has the GM AT4 spray in liner, all the cameras, and the off-road package.

There are a lot of reasons that you will like your B&W slider hitch (particularly with a Ford) beyond just cab to trailer clearance. See post #49.

The Renogy DC to DC is easy enough to connect to a switched signal, if you did not have upfitters you could figure something out.

Also David (@wondersawait) added his GM upfitters himself since his truck did not come with them, I feel like he said it was an easy enough install.

I also have the DC-DC charger set up wired to an up-fitter switch and it works well. Trigger is from trailer lights. I have the 60A Renogy, currently limited to 30 for testing. My install is here https://gdrvowners.com/forum/operati...harger-project Long thread, but install is towards the end.

Good thread. I did notice two things not discussed here that figured into my recent decision on what truck to buy.

First, is availability. There are not a lot of trucks on the lots right now. I looked at dealers for GMC, Ford and Chevy and even independent dealers for 250 miles and picking were scares. I ended up with a "slightly used" 2021 F250, with less than 7,000 miles on it, and it was at a RAM dealer. I figured how bad could it have been used. they dealer told me that the first owner upgraded to a RAM dually for the heavy horse trailer.

Second is price. I chose a XLT short bed, but it had the B&H turnover ball all ready installed. The prices on the top models are more then $20K more than I paid. That was my CFO's deciding factor right then and there. I doubt even after availability gets back to "normal" that the prices will drop back to pre-pandemic levels. Yes I miss the dual temp controls. This truck as the 7.3 gas Godzilla motor. At a $1/gallon more for diesel, this also made more sense to my CFO. I think that all comes out in the wash. The big diesel will get more unloaded MPG.

On the SRW/DRW line of discussion I had a 2013 F350 SRW LB, and a 40' toy hauler 5er. I felt the truck getting pushed by the trailer in cross winds. It felt like a travel trailer when an 18 wheeler blows by. I would strongly recommend a dually for a larger heaver trailer.

I also got the B&W slider hitch. Haven't used the slider yet. But, I think I will need it to back into my driveway. Sure don't want to bang the trailer in to the back window!

This is true. The reason is that sitting in traffic with your foot on the brake or crawling along, you don't need the trailer brakes engaged. Either electric drum of EoH disc.

My truck came with the option but GM was shipping them as an owner install option; basically the switches were installed in the dash and they gave you all the pieces but you have to install all the wires yourself. It wasn't difficult but it was a tedious job and I wish they would have just put them in at the factory. If anyone needs to do this job, there's an excellent thread on the GM-Trucks message board which has step by step walk-through of putting these in yourself on the 2020+ GM HD trucks; it made the job way easier to follow someone else's guidance.

Have been digging into the RAM and the GMC more. The GMC with Denali seems to be a better comparison to the Ford's. Trying to get in to look at one. I was able to look at an F-350 Lariat long bed 4x4 Crew this week. So far - the price per feature value aspect is leaning in Ford's direction. GMC's website has a ton more options, but they are garbage - aftermarket stuff that I don't need to see when building a truck. Not sure if anyone cares for the analysis...but can try to post some more thoughts too....going through an extremely detailed comparison right now.
