We were supposed to take delivery of our trailer today. Unfortunately, after we did the PDI, there were to many issues that need to be addressed. The biggest in my mind is with the roof. Perfectly smooth everywhere except the entire width of the front edge for about 4 inches back on the plywood starting at the edge of the goop. The entire edge is not adhered to the plywood. I brought that up to the service rep and he said some bubbles are normal. I said possibly so however, the entire width of the roof for 4 inches is pour craftsmanship. He wrote it up as bubbles on roof. I instructed him to write it up as I said, which he did. Some other items are ground faults, screws that missed framing members, a drain hose next to a transformer, wires run through the frame without loom or a grommet on the steel, trim that is loose in the underbed storage. Needless to say service is going to look at it Tuesday and let us know. Takeaway... Everyone needs to hold manufacturers and dealers accountable for the products.

Jack2of3 -- consider this a long-distance "Hi Five". Well done! Once the dealer has your money, getting obvious issues corrected is very difficult and time-consuming. Since they a monetary incentive you're at the head of the line in the service department.

Once upon a time a dealer responded to a post here on the forum stating they'd never allow a customer to get up and inspect a roof. I responded that a dealer that kept me from checking what I was buying would never sell me a trailer. Must have tweaked him a bit, since I don't recall hearing from him again...

I found it amazing that there aren't federal requirements governing RV manufacturers. Another discrepancy I found is the MPPT is mounted on the ceiling of the pass through to flammable material directly in contrast to the MPPT manufacturers instructions. Additionally, the common chassis ground was missing for the MPPT. DANGER, DANGER.

If it was a Future Solutions MPPT controller, you're absolutely correct. The manual that I linked to below specifically states that it must be mounted to a non-flammable location, and the chassis ground must be connected.

Well, it's been 9 business days since the dealer says they contacted GD about the PDI issues. Called and spoke with my service tech, no word yet. Guess I'll call GD on Monday

I'm not going to link the videos from this forum, but watch a few of Steve Lehto's YouTube videos and you'll reassure yourself that your patience is well worth it.

Everything was approved except the roof, loose circuit breakers and the wires going into the frame without grommets. Repairs are completed and ready for pickup.
I got the roof protection through insurance.

I would have ran from that transaction. When I picked up my '23, I had an independent inspection done plus the PDI. My inspector found double the issues that the PDI found and they were trying to non-chalantly pass by us as resolved. I refused to complete the purchase until they fixed and or resolved the issues on the Inspection report. I also spoke with the general sales manager and requested my PDI fee back since they failed to do their job. Overall, my unit (compared to what I have read on my model's pages) was a premo unit.....We camped half of last year with no issues. We did encounter some minor warranty issues that were addressed at our 90 day service return. It surprised us how this industry just doesn't give a damn about their customers....after all of the $$ that we spend on these units. I understand one done, one out......but have some integrity and customer appreciation during these sales.
