Just wanted to get the general consensus as to whether extended warranties are worth it or not. I was offered an 8 year exclusionary policy for $2400. What are everyone's thoughts?

I am not sure what "exclusionary" means on your policy. If you are handy and can fix things yourself then skip the warranty, if not then a warranty might be a good choice for you. Read the policy really good to see what is and what is not covered. Some policies will not cover water damage of any kind, some covered rain water damage but not inside plumbing leak damage. I would also like to know when I have an issue how long will it take to get it in the shop and fixed, I would not want to let it sit for months at a time. I very rarely buy any kind of extended warranty, them seem like a money maker for someone other than me. I usually put the cost of the warranty in the bank for that one day that I may need a fridge or ac or other large costly item.

If you're on this forum, it indicates you might have some technical skills. If you can use a volt meter, hand tools, and have some basic repair skills, then you may not need an extended warranty. Remember, much of the work you do such as roof inspections and maintenance, brake inspections, bearing repacks, etc. are maintenance items and are not typically covered by a warranty.
Have a microwave or TV fail, it will run you a few hundred to replace it. But if you lose an AC or refrigerator, the extended warranty might be beneficial.
