WOW 6 days and counting till I get my first of two knee replacement's. Man I first had to get my heart Dr.'s, my local physician and rheumatologists ok. Then the poking started. First a full pre opp physical and full blood test with a EKG. Then came a eko cardopgram on the heart. Now they think I'm alive I guess so I can start the special soap while showering and a covic test on the 14th so I'm ok for the operation on the 16th. still shaking my head

Best of luck Ed. My brother in law had a double knee replacement and it worked amazingly well, so todays technology is very good.

I'm getting cut on this Friday.

If your at the rally in 2021 we can sit around the fire and compare scars like captain Quint in Jaws.

Best wishes for a full recovery Ed. I nursed Ginnie through her knee replacement, so I know the first few weeks are tough. Good luck on your rehab and getting back to normal.

Yes, Ed - good to hear everything is good. Carol had her knee replaced a few years ago and came through all well. She is a nurse and understood the importance of following the exercise and other requirements. Listen to those folks and of course, your DW !

Good luck to you! My Dad had the procedure. I'll be honest, so you're prepared. The physical therapy can be brutal. BUT do it! My uncle had the same procedure and skimped on the physical therapy. He's paying for it now. He doesn't have nearly the range of motion my dad has.

                    Ed,
I just had the orthoscopic knee procedure done a week ago so not much of a comparison - but from what I've heard from an Aunt and a few others who've had knee replacement, if you follow the doctor & physical therapist recommendations the feedback is it's totally worth it.
I wish you a quick and speedy return to full mobility!

First week is over and I just came in from the second outside walk of the day with out the use of the walker, but I carry it along. Amazing where science has come. First day of rehab tomorrow will be a good way to judge where I'm at?? My wife is a God send hands down!! Great to be alive Marry Christmas

                        Hi Ed

A great resource for folks who have had knee replacement surgery is bonesmart.org. Lots of great information there as well as people sharing their own experiences with joint replacement. I learned a lot about the surgery and recovery on that website prior to my knee replacement four years ago.
