  • Moisture damage

I have warped cabinet doors on the island after going to the beach.  85ish degree high humidity during our stay, noticed a lot of moisture under the kitchen sink in the island after day 2, water droplets forming under yhe sink basin. The next day I noticed the cabinet doors appear warped, like the hardwood part of the doors. We're currently keeping the doors cracked to allow the heat and moisture to escape but I fear the damage is already done. The doors do not close like they did when we got the unit. Not sure if the dealership will cover the repairs or not but it seems an oversight by GD to not insulate the drain and water pipes going to the sink

Welcome HomeBrewDude. Hopefully, you're brewing some IPAs you can share with me at a GDRV rally .

I suffer the exact opposite conditions you do. Frequently here in Arizona, our temps hit 100°F, and our humidity is less than 8%. So all of our wood dries out, shrinks, and cracks. You might consider running a dehumidifier in those high humidity conditions. If your RV is within the one year warranty period, make sure you report your issues to your dealer.

I would wonder where the moisture is coming from. I would guess condensation from running the air conditioner but the warm moist air has to get there some how. If you are leaving your outside storage doors open that would allow a lot of the high humidity in to the RV. Also check around the underbelly and frame to see if there are any holes that would allow moisture to get in also. The condensation is caused by the moisture from the humid air to collect on the cold pipes.

Just some thoughts to pass along.
