  • Torque Electrical Connections

Mike Sokol recently published an excellent article on torquing electrical connections. It includes a recommendation for the tool as well as torque specs. IMHO this is a task we should all have on our annual "To Do" list. Full article here: https://rvelectricity.substack.com/p...ue-be-with-you

I used to work on an assembly line manufacturing bi-level train cars for Toronto. We had a torque screwdriver for all terminal strip connections. (1987)

I have a torque screwdriver but I use it most often for mounting scopes. Vortex optics sells a really nice one. I paid $125 cad.

Howard - Why do you keep doing this - posting great information? Even the article title is calling me.

      UGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.........boy do I need a 12 step program to survive this place.

I am saving this for a rainy day research - don't tell SWMBO

PS Scott Scott'n'Wendy Don't say a word .......my head hurts enough thinking about this. Another tool

BTW would it hurt to use one of these as a regular screw driver for occasional everyday trailer use? My Ace hardware multi bit one has finally cracked the handle.after 20 years.

I have one of the vortex tools. great little investment for small things like firearms. However if you have a 1/4" torque wrench it may be low enough values to do the job.

Just saying, but I will admit the vortex is much easier to pack for traveling. Just remember to back off the setting when done.
