  • Battery strain while connected to shore power

We have a 2017 solitude where one of the deep cycle batteries had a bad cell, so I replaced both batteries with a brand new deep cycle marine battery. Batteries appear to charged about 3/4 when driving about 6 hours down the road, however, when plugged into shore power batteries will slowly discharge. Lights in the RV don't seem to be flickering. Bad voltage converter?

Check the fuses on the converter output. If they are blown, the converter will not charge the battery. They blow as protection from connecting the battery in reverse, even momentarily.

Also make sure that the battery disconnect key is pushed in and turned so it can not be removed, some units will not charge while on shore power if the battery disconnect key is removed. Also make sure that the breaker for the converter/charger is on in the main ac breaker panel.
