  • No hot water

I have 2021 2400BH. Cold weather camping, 16 degrees out. I have no hot water. Running off fresh water tank, defrosted low point drains, but still no hot. Where could the frozen pipe be and is there a way to thaw it out? Would like to get this fixed and winterized as the below freezing temps will be here for several day.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your plumbing issue. Here are a few questions regarding your unit.

    1. Is your cold water running?
    2. Are all hot faucets (bathroom and kitchen) stopped up?
    3. What are you using to heat the trailer? Are you running the propane furnace, or using electric heat? What temperature do you have the thermostat set to? This is important because the propane furnace will provide heat into the underbelly of the unit. If you are using electric heating, it will not heat the underbelly. If you have the furnace thermostat set too low, you may not be getting enough heat to keep the pipes from freezing.
    4. Can you let us know what kind of water heater you have? Does it have a tank for the water heater, or is it tankless?

Like full stream flowing from the low point drain?
It still may be froze up at the T above the outside drain line.

Thank you for the quick responses:

        1. Cold water is running from kitchen and bathroom faucets, but nothing coming out of shower or toilet.
        2. All hot not working in kitchen and bathroom
        3. We are using both propane and electric heat. Heat set at 68 last night, right now at 73.
        4. Dometic 6 gallon water heater (not tankless).

The low point is just barely dripping….

Barely dripping means that it is frozen, you will need to do a little more heating to get this thawed out. Hair dryer or heat gun will help. These low point drains need to be insulated as well as the fresh tank drain and overflow pipe. We have been using a hair dryer and just got water through all lines! We are going to winterize quickly! Thank you for the responses.

Be sure to bypass and then drain the water heater when you winterize.
