  • Water Filters - Options?

Moderator Note: Posts below were moved from https://gdrvowners.com/forum/operati...o-water-filter as the options for a water filter seemed worthy of it's own thread. -Howard

I put the Camco filter first then https://flowpur.com/collections/rv-pro-10-000 as we have grown accustomed to softer water vs the bricks that come out when on city water.

Rob, I really like the way our current unit is setup with a port https://www.amazon.com/Valterra-A10-...01MTA13KG?th=1 that allows access to the plumbing and other stuff. I don't think the 303 has a blocked off utility area like our current unit, can you confirm?

Hmmm...that and Rob's accumulator might be a project for the future. But where to put these in my 315RLTS so at least the RV Pro is easily accessible...

howson I put the Softener on the ground under the unit with a 3' flexzilla hose up into the unit. That way when its time to regenerate the softener its already out of the bay, also if there's a leak i don't want that inside running across the floor.

So my old popup had a flowpur system installed by the manufactuer. Worked great. Has a great story why there stuff is better than the camco ones. (Mainly that they claim the camco one's are not designed to "sit" for periods of time and will grow "stuff" that is not healthy when not being used).

https://waterpur.com/collections/cci-5-clw12 was the model I had on the little Pop up. It was plumbed directly after the one way valve that went between the water pump and the city water connectoin (the plumbing on the popup was simple)

        They make bigger ones:

        https://flowpur.com/products/poe12ghgacb

(I do not to this day understand why they do business under two different names / URL's)

I look forward to seeing howson trying to cram this in the bay with all the other stuff he's got in there.

I plumbed in a standard residential water filter housing. Then I just change out the filter with a decent carbon one every six months or so. I have it tied right to the inlet so it filters both city water and we’re filling the tank.

My process is to first attach one of the small blue disposable filters to the campground water supply, then a pressure regulator, then the supply hose. Before connecting to the trailer, I attach a spray nozzle and through this I fill and flush the filter, pressure regulator and hose. Because I use quick connect fittings, I can remove the nozzle and connect to the trailer without introducing any air into the trailer system that would need to be purged from lines, water heater, etc.
