  • 2022 GD Reflection 5th wheel slide issues

We purchased our RV in March 2022. Used it 4 times over the summer and fall. When we returned home after our last trip the slide (living area - we only have 1 and it contains the dinette and refrigerator) after unpacking - the slide did not want to slide in completely. It was as if the motors kept stalling. Has anyone else experience this???

Welcome to the forum Larry and Jackie.

There are two different types of slides used in Reflection fifth wheels. Trouble-shooting is different between the two. In order to get you started with trouble-shooting, I'll need to know what model of Reflection you have.

While I'm waiting on your response, the first thing to check for a stalling slide out is that you have a fully charged battery or you're hooked up to shore power.

      Jim,
Sorry we never checked back and answered your question. We have an appointment at the dealer to have this looked at with a few other things that need repair. Thanks for your response though.

Would love to see if this is the same issue I had where the head on the rod pushing out the slide cracked and the welds broke which threw off the alignment.

So as a follow up to our problem with the slide - the dealership said it was “out of tolerance” and probably came that way from the factory. They replaced both Schwintech motors and all slides and it worked well for our first 2 trips this years. Hopefully that issue is resolved for good. Since the trailer was new and still under warranty - it was all repaired with no charge for us. But our latest issue is the refrigerator quit working and the food in the freeze thawed - can not figure that out as we were hooked up to shore power at a state park. Have a call into the dealers again and when we were ready to leave we could not get the jacks to raise in the back. Kept getting a “jack fault code. Another issue to discuss with the dealer.

Larry & Jackie Assuming you have a 12v compressor fridge, those both sound like low battery issues. Even on shore power the 12v items in your rig need a good charge on your battery to work properly. Check that your disconnect did not get pulled by accident (key should be able to be pulled on for proper operation) and then I would check your battery voltage, could be a problem with your converter failing to charge the batteries.
