So, I'm going to be really stupid and throw this in here. What do us 3 axle folks do?
The “X” pattern logic is to rotate the tires such that they are on the opposite side and in a different fore/aft position. You could do something similar with 3 axles. Take the 3 left side tires and put them on the right side in a different order. Then vice versa for the other side tires.
Not that I have ever done this . . . just an opinion.
I actually googled this, Jeff Barta. The consensus seemed to be to do the X-pattern with the front and rear axles and then just swap tires side to side on the middle axle.
