    Hi ncitro,
I just bought a 2022 28BH and as an old IT guy was already scoping out where to put a cellular internet hookup. I was alrady looking the area behind the TV or the cabinet to the left that has the Jensen radio/dvd installed. Then i stumble upon this from you. Very nice. Do you have any more picture that i might reference? In my last trailer i also used a Peplink device, the Surf Solo with a tethered Netgear Knighthawk for the modem. worked great but looking to move to another Peplink for this and use the Knighthawk somewhere else. Just started planning the setup and was poking around looking at the TV mount and see that the thing is screwed to the very thin piece of paneling with no backer board at all. Hard to believe, already starting to pull lose from whatever is holding it up. Was yours like this? Surprised it stayed on for one trip. Some more pictures would be great and maybe respond to a question or two one i get going would be a great help.

allenrude Be glad to answer any questions. I am on a business trip this week so I cannot get any photos, but when I get I home I will try to get some. I am surprised its just into the paneling, I have never looked close at mine, but I have a ton of cross country trips on it with no trouble. I know there is a steel plate in the bedroom for the TV there, I would assume the living room one has similar backing. I am really happy with the Balance 20x, but if I had it to do over again I would probably get the Max Transit Duo. I thought the Balance would be upgradable with its flex module. While it is, it turns out the Cat 18 module I have in it is the max bandwidth the CPU can handle, so it will not be upgradable past what I have. So it does what I need right now, but will not do much more than that.

I like having the modem integrated into the Peplink. It is nice to have one place and UI to use when I get to a site and need to assess bands and VZW vs ATT performance.

Thanks for the feedback and i look forward to getting your pictures. I have included a picture from the backside of the TV mount i took with my endoscope as i have not ripped into this as yet. Clearly no backer for the mount. Not what i would expect from GD. Hard to believe that this is done by design, but I may be wrong...

Cate&Rob Rob, you may want to tag someone at GD about this issue.

            Hi Joseph

We did communicate this to Grand Design . . . and it turned out to be a wooden backer instead of the expected steel. See https://gdrvowners.com/forum/operati...hout-tv-backer

              Hi ncitro

Was looking at your Rally deck again and see the slide that includes the Puma antenna mounted on the AC shroud, Is this your rig? I also see something behind it that looks like a Ubiquity NanoStation. i actually have one on my old trailer running into the WAN port on my Peplink Surf Solo for park wifi. Nice. I was also thinking about the Puma and how to mount it. Dont think i have seen the AC shroud used before and was wondering how it worked out and how you got the antenna cable pulled thru to that location.

              Thanks

allenrude Yes that's my rig. I had the Nanostation left over from my old system so I kept it. It's mainly used when I have the rig home or at friends and family. Pretty much every campground we've been to my cellular setup outperforms their WiFi.

Yes I mounted the Puma antenna on the shroud. It worked really well, my living room AC is a Dometic, on that unit under the shroud is done rigid foam, once through that you're at the inside part of the AC unit. Then from the inside I was able to fish over to the vertical chase behind the TV that all the speaker and electrical wiring goes through and go into the Peplink. No new holes in the roof.

Thanks Neil, I use the Nanostation for the same when the rig is at home. When camping i rely 100% on cell. I like the Puma, but clear that its developed for mounting to a relatively thin surface and not a thick RV roof so debating how best to run. I like your shroud idea, assume you had to pull the TV and mounting board to get behind to find the vertical chase? BTW I like the Bose, just saw that in your presentation. Nice.

                  Thanks

allenrude The TV popped right off the mount, in the compartment behind the TV was an access hole, I added another one with a grommet. From there I pulled the chase off the wall and was able to fish into it.

                      Thanks,

Sounds like another project to add to my list. Gong to be a full winter getting the new rig ready to camp in the spring. I will let you know the progress.
