A question for all of you B&W Companion users. The manual states to grease the top of the pivots, polyurethane part, with lithium grease. Is there a brand recommended? Will it harm the polyurethane?

Yes I did read the manual........

I used a white lithium grease that I had on hand. I have not pulled the head off to see how this interface is wearing . . . good reminder . . . I will do that. (Once the temps drop down out of the 80s )

Country Campers I did the same as Cate&Rob and used a lithium that I had already. I have had mine apart quite a few times taking it in and out of the truck, each time I have wiped it clean and applied new. I have about 2,000 towing miles so far and haven’t really seen much wear.

I used PB white lithium out of the can I had. When I took the hitch out this fall I found everything peachy. In fact there was no signs of wear on the pivot bushing. Took a few solid tugs to get the head to come off due to the grease suction and tight fit - a good thing. I also lubed the jaw assemble with the white lithium, but greased the zerk with red and tacky bearing grease.

B&W makes a clever lifting ring that attaches to pin jaws of the hitch. This (and the chainfall hoist in my garage) is why I have never separated the head from the base on my hitch!

Cate&Rob Wish I had a garage to lift the hitch like that.

BTW, several people make lifting attachments. i kinda like the Demko and clones: https://www.amazon.com/Trailer-Hitch...95229161&psc=1 since there is a plate on the bottom.

If they were not so pricey, one could pick up a https://www.etrailer.com/Fifth-Wheel...xoC3bEQAvD_BwE and just weld an eye to the top.

Must be nice - heated too? With my lift table you folks made be buy its a piece of cake getting it in and out, and I can handle the two pieces. By separating them it give me a chance to clean, inspect, and service

The truck gets to live in that garage by itself. 4" clearance to close the garage door . . . have to remember to remove the ball hitch from the receiver! I built the chainfall gantry more years ago than I care to admit . . . when putting different engines in cars needed something more stable than a cherry picker. The garage is not heated, but is connected to the house for some warmth. (Not that this bothers me much from our RV lot in Florida LOL!)

Then there is the separate workshop with heat and AC. Finishing this building was my "Covid year" project. The truck would fit in there but there is usually too much else in the way. Wish I could get the RV in there like some can.

Bought hitch used for 1/2 price of new and it was used twice!!! First diesel and I’m impressed with fuel mileage. Went to Renovo Pa for hitch. Beautiful country and i saw 20-30 Elk on drive home Click image for larger version Name:	4E7B2474-DA15-4C66-95F2-6E1EF77C0201.jpg Views:	19 Size:	153.8 KB ID:	106398

There are some dealers willing to offer deals they are not allowed to advertise. B&W also has excellent customer service so if you have questions they them. I don't think Pullrite has the same and may not be US made.

HOW DID YOU GET A LIVE PERSON????? I have sent 2 emails requesting price. On the 2nd email I got a response stating that someone would get back with me shortly (it's been over 24 hrs so shortly to me and them are not aligned).

Maybe things have changed in the few years since I got mine, but they answered the phone then. The number I called was for Florida, now I see the California number

I'm guessing it's an AI number. No button you press will get you to a live person. Multiple e-mails trying to find a price on the RVK3710 and RVK3715 for the 24 GM platform. They only have the bases listed without the head.
