Good to hear something on Timbren or Sumo Springs. I knew they were out there, but never talked to anyone on them for opinions.
I liked my Air Lift Bags, and air lift is 46 minutes from my house. They were excellent to work with. Not planning on any bags on this new F350.

    Thanks.

I went with Timbrens for my F350 instead of airbags. It made a difference in cornering and also a bit less sag when loaded. I do have the factory camper package that adds sway bar. It was not enough sag originally to warrant the expense of air bags. Here are measurements I took with the 303rls hitched up and note that my pin weight at 2400lbs is heavier than yours I would imagine. Middle picture is without trailer hitched up. Last picture is without Timbrens hitched up. First picture is loaded with Timbrens.

Air bags and Timbrens are really two different things but are often compared to one another. People often talk about vehicle sag when loading their trucks and compensate with one technology or the other. The air bags offer many more advantages than just compensating for heavy tongue loads. The Timbrens are really just more of a progressive jounce bumper similar to what comes on the trucks from the factory.....at least the GM trucks. Air bags are completely different and offer an infinite amount of adjustability for ride quality, handling, and etc.....IMHO....

Once you have tried both types----I think most would vote for the advantages of the bags over the Timbrens.....

Well I spent some time reviewing install videos for both Firestone and Airlift. I think I like the hardware on the Firestone better., Then I crawled under the truck to see the room I had to install them, including a compressor and tank . Unfortunately Airlift does not give dimensions on thier install assembly. BTW the instructions show the compressor being mounted separate, and not in the same bracket at the controller as some photos show. They tout it being all in one install.(compressor and controller in one mounting bracket - but maybe I am confused. Also for my truck installation, there is a heat shield required on the passenger side. Airlift mounts theirs to the resonator with straps, while Firestone mounts it form the top air bag bracket - any issues with either?

So now if folks can help - can you please post pictures, especially if you have a late model super duty,, on where you put stuff, both for the air bags with the wireless set up, but possibly an on board air install.. I have some room outside the frame, but to mount my air horns I will need to be above the exhaust inside the frame (is that even possible)., or split them up to one each side. same for the compressor and tank. One horn is 38" long the other 34".

.If I do and on board air install I will need ti use the manual paddle valves to adjust pressure as I cant seem to find the Firestone of Airlift wireless controller separate. Are there other wireless controlers out there for the Hot Rod folks?

On my 04 I had it in the bed under the Retrax canister, but it was always getting hit and parts damaged when I loaded stuff and it was not IP rated. Now most are IP67 which means it can go under in a somewhat protected area. I measured above the spare and I have about 5' in the center area.

All Thoughts welcome and if you find any install videos on a late model F30. please post.

          Keith

On edit - I may have found a standalone controller, just need to check it out more. https://www.roughcountry.com/product...-10105#gallery

Keith--I don't have a Super Duty but you can see the two components and how large they are. I tucked everything up as tight as I could and then ran the stainless braided lines to the bags. One is the controller and the other is the small pump. I chose not to get one with a tank. Mine runs about 20 secs to pump from 5 lbs to 50 lbs when I haul so I didn't feel the need for the extra device, mounting, and etc. This controller and pump setup could be used with any air bag setup. It was not specific to the Air lift bags that I purchased. Here are some pics. It's pretty small and easy to find mounting spaces.....at least on my GMCs.

Yoda I have a 2020 F250 crew cab short bed. I'm sure the long bed is similar and may even have a little more space.

The compressor/manifold is the Airlift 7400EZ. I made a bracket and a "mounting plate" for the :all-in-one" 7400EZ. There is more space on the passenger side (drivers side had the parking brake cable in the way). I did NOT drill holes in the frame of the truck, just sandwiched the frame with brackets. I do not like drilling holes in frames of anything. Here's a couple pictures.....hope they are clear, it was dark and my truck is dirty.

I wove the square tubing thorough the factory wire harnesses. the square tubing also created a little pocket where the factory harnesses could pass beneath the mounting plate.

here is a closeup of the 7400EZ.

              .
I ran the braided lines to the passenger side bag basically along the top of the frame. You can see where I went behind and around a mounting point to get to the air bag

Click image for larger version Name:	AB2.jpg Views:	0 Size:	82.0 KB ID:	121299

For the drivers side, I went on top of a cross member (air line is the smaller one on top) to the fuel tank, then above the fuel tank to the bag. I tried to keep all lines as far from exhaust as possible. That's why I mounted the compressor on the opposite side of the frame (from the exhaust) and ran my air lines on the opposite side of the frame - and above the crossmember.

I did notice there is some space between the transfer case and the fuel tank (I changed transfer case fluid and made a mess....it is not leaking...lol). I don't know the layout for the long bed, but if it's about the same and you are not getting an aftermarket, larger fuel tank, this might be a good area for an air tank. As far as your horns, the only place I can think is along the frame somehow - 2.5' to 3' long is crazy.

You also identified another good spot - above the spare tire. I have seen some people mount a compressor there.

I also like the idea of the Rough Country stand alone manifold. That manifold is 7"x2.75"x5" and should easily fit long the frame where my 7400EZ is. (You may also get a compressor to fit along the frame as well. (Did you see the Rough Country compressor they had? 6.16 CFM and only $350 - same specs as ARB compressor but cheaper).

Yoda I thought I'd show you how the Airlift Ultimate 5000 fit. This is the passenger side bag. Notice almost half of the bag isn't really sitting on the anything....the 7500 was worse. That's what I didn't like.

Also, once you install, trim the long bolts, if you don't things hit them and they get bent

My F250 has the high capacity towing package which means they put a 1 ton axle and spring pack on an F250 (Dana M275 axle with the overload spring and heavy duty spring pack).

Also, a tip when installing: pre-assemble the bag and hardware before you install anything in place. put a jack under the frame to lift the frame away from the axle as much as possible....this will give you more space to maneuver the bags into place. once the bags are set, slowly lower the jack until you can fasten all bolts.

OK for anyone else dealing with this corundum I ran across some videos and other posts of varying solution too solve my mounting questions. Some include areas I would have never thought of. However I vaguely remember Rob Cate&Rob mentioning above the spare at one time. I does mean me dropping the truck spare tire to have a look - probably need to do that now so I know how

Now I just need to select a few components and mock up the sizes (I have plenty of foam left over) Right now I am thinking of an on board air system (for the horns), and if I go airbags use the controller l found. https://www.roughcountry.com/product...ntroller-10105 I need to call tomorrow as I have wiring questions. The above the spare tire mounting looks interesting as it is well protected and I can use an up fitter switch to power as I don't want it to kill the truck battery when it gets cold. Learned that lesson on my 04 when a leak occurred and I had left the switch in the glove box on..

                    Hope this helps others

                      Yoda Keith,

I was just on Airlift web site. The install instruction are there. Pick one of the 3 bag kits you like/want, then click product details, then click Download Installation Guide.

Either set of air bags will get you what your looking for. Although your a week late on "Aiirlift Pictures", as my 2013 F250 is gone. But, here is my memory or what I did.
Heat Shield, Right side. Did mount on the resonator, but I never had any issues with this getting to much heat on the bag.
Never had any issues with the bags mounting hardware ever coming loose in any way.
Air Compressor. I mounted tihs under the hood, driver side on top of a fuse box yowards the cab. I use velcro tape to hold it in place. All wire and air lines had quick disconnect to make removal easy. I do not ever removing the compressor during my 11 years with this truck. I Mounted the 2001 duesel the same way. Not sure if your 2022 has room under the hood. I did this to help keep weather off the compressor (water, winter salt, etc.I also heard of people mounting the compressor under/behind the rear seat.
Gauge, Air button, etc, I mount ri9ght above the emergency brake pedal. Easy access to air up or down the bags.
All components were from air lift. I did not have a tank, as I only had just the bags. Im no help where to mount a tank.

I will look around for my 2013 instruction. If I have them i can scan certain areas of the install and send to you. Or call Airlift, as Im sure they will send you a email attachment withg the mounting instructions as they are very good to work with. Airlift. Ph: 517-322-3244 (Lansing, Mi)

                      Before sending, found my instruction.

                        Hi Keith,

I did mount the control box above the spare tire to give it as much protection as possible. This was on the F150, so I don't know if there is similar space on the F350. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures. I mounted the compressor in the box of the truck, high on the side wall towards the back . . . also, to protect it from the weather. I started with the Airlift compressor which was fine for the airbags, but eventually replaced this with a ViAir compressor so I could use it for filling tires as well.

Cate&Rob Rob is that the Viair compressor mount us used? I am concerned if I mount the compressor there it would get too wet when towing
TucsonJim Jim which model bags did you get and did you happen to find a sale? When you get done installing yours getting practice, can swing by and do mine?
acoleman43 Thanks for the pictures. Its good to see the compressor is mounted with the controller. I did not see any dimensions on thier site so will be giving them a call too.

BTW I an also looking for a good marine grade (water proof/resistant) 12V power socket for the truck bed so I can plug the cooler in there. The one I got is not marine grade, even thought it said it was.

Well back to the trailer fridge today - should get it done then pealing apples and making pie filling for freezing

                                Hi Keith,

I fabricated the bracket that the Viair sits on. In that location it is under the 5th wheel overhang, so stays out of most of the weather when towing.

                                Edit: I use Weatherpack connectors on everything. 100% waterproof . . .
