I'm only aware of one rv manufacturing company that did Highly Accelerated Life Testing. They did overload GVWR they also added SumoSprings®, upgraded leaf springs, 30k Gen-Y® Executive Torsion Flex Hitch...etc.

Just out of curiosity since I have a 2022 Solitude, does this TSB mean that the dealer is supposed to replace the lag bolts if they measure under 3/8"? If I understand that correctly at a minimum they are replacing lag bolts if I ask for this to be checked or am I missing something here if there is no flex?

Correct. Step 12 reads... 'If the measurement is 3/8" or less follow procedure outlined in step 14.". Step 14 is replace lag bolts etc.

Thanks for confirming. Guess it's time to call my dealer and get this done before camping season and de-winterizing starts and I can't get it in.

That is correct. Doing the measurements requires removing the "up and under" the filon cover that goes from the pinbox down to the front of the rig, thats why I said it was not "owner friendly" to take the measurement. Removing this piece is a handful, and will probably result in the batts of insulation falling down. If your flex is within spec they instruct the servicer to replace the existing lag bolts with 1/2" lag bolts and also to fill the other unused holes with 1/2" lag bolts. This seems to be out of an abundance of caution, Lipperts frame guide does not require all the holes to be filled.

While talking to your dealer they should be able to supply you with the TSB for you to review. We are just unable to share it here unfortunately.

So does this effectively mean there could be no measurable difference (but signs of flex exist) the lag bolts would need to be replaced anyway? Makes for difficult hotel/travel planning with this inspection at the factory scheduled in a month. I was told they may have it for 2-3 weeks if they have to pull the cap in which case I'd drive home and return when repairs are completed since I can't watch what is going on anyway.

Yes, but the lag bolts are accessed without removing the front cap. Most of them are accessed from the interior, occasionally a few are from underneath.

My guess is no due to budget constraints.

My guess would be no, because they don't have to. Also because this is a very old issue and it would not appear they do that kind of testing.

Where are these lag bolts? Lag bolts are for fastening wood.

The go though supplied holes in the steel frame and into the aluminum wall members. Those aluminum wall members are stuffed with wood for the lags to bite into.

Well, they'd have to take a lot apart inside then to access the bolts.

Yeah in an east west bedroom most on the drivers side are under the bed, on the door side they remove the trim below the dresser to get to them. Some are in the closet as well.
