For some time I have been considering adding or having a hitch receiver added/welded to the frame of our imagine 2400 BH. It did not come with a hitch receiver on the back. I recently saw an RV with one bolted to the bumper and a bike rack hanging off of it.
I have not pulled it from the manual, but I am seeing online that most bumpers, including the imagine only have a 150# weight limit on the bumper. It already has a spare on it, and adding something that is torquing the welds on that bumper does not seem like a great idea...but maybe I am misreading the weight limit? Any cautionary tales? I do have access to a really nice bike rack already that requires a receiver.
I saw a video recommending something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Mount-n-Lock-.../dp/B071WK9CD3
to add weight capacity to the bumper....but I am not sure I care for that.
More importantly - if I go the weld it to the frame route - any recommendations on what to buy to have welded on?
Thanks in advance.
