Given all the hullabaloo over frames and 5vr pin boxes, I advise calling Grand Design Customer Service and ask this question. Make sure and have your VIN handy as they'll request it.

If you decide to go that route, please report back what you're told.

Howard is right I would check, but I believe the answer will be no. The turning point pin box used on the 150 series is a different animal and’s I don’t think it can be easily changed.

When I was shopping for a new 5th, priority one was, it had to be able to use a goose box. The turning point hitch was not compatible at that time, that forced me to the used market. Not a deal breaker as I also did not want an island in the kitchen.

Gen Y apparently has a hitch that works with the turning point, but it isn't an air ride like the Reese.

Maybe - but call Reese after checking with Lippert and GD. You need to get you upper pin box model number.. There should be a sticker on the upper mount somewhere

The reason I say maybe is because I looked into this before buying a hitch for my new truck. The Reese bolt pattern will not fit the upper mount of the turning point, but they indicated that they may come out with a model that would - that was 2 years ago. Gen Y does make one that will fit, but the reach is shorter and the lack of height adjustment made me pass. It is also not Lippert approved as the Reese box is for other units. I think I did a thread on this back then but cant find it now.
