Want to add an E-bike fat tire carrier to rear of 2021 Imagine 2400 BH. How much weight can I put on the rear? Bikes are approx weight of 2 bikes plus carrier is 250 lb. Not counting the hitch.
Is it safe to attach it to bumper or to TT frame?
Thanks……

I would not recommend attaching a bike carrier to the bumper, especially one that will weigh 250#. I would get something attached to the frame for that kind of weight, sorry I have no recommendations for this.

The units that ship from Grand Design with a hitch are rated to 300 pounds tongue (carrier) weight and 3,000 pounds pulling weight. If there's no hitch the bumper is not rated to carry any weight. I do know some have gone to Lippert (they make the frame) for clarification on if a hitch can be added to the frame without voiding the warranty, but you'd need to reach out to them.
Another option on a travel trailer would be a rack over the tongue. Not sure about the e-bikes, but I see these a lot in campgrounds and they would be subjected to a lot less shock than on the back.

I second Country Campers Brian's recommendation of not putting that much weight on the bumper. My father in law with SOB of trailer, but it also uses a Lippert frame, had a bolt on hitch receiver for a bike rack. He usually only had two mountain style bikes, not e-bikes, and it started to deform to tube of the bumper, so he had to take his trailer to a welding shop to get the bumper reinforced and squared up.

Only tidbit of info I can add to the replies above is before calling Lippert find the RPO number of your frame. It should be on a white sticker on the inside of the "A" frame near the coupler. See https://gdrvowners.com/forum/exterio...travel-trailer for a similar discussion with an example.
