  • Harbor Freight Anchor Point Install (Ford F-350, 8' Bed)

Yoda is installing the much better BullRings ( https://www.bullringusa.com/ ) but I thought I'd show how to install cheap Harbor Freight versions in a Ford truck bed's anchor points. (These were installed because a certain someone didn't leave himself enough time to order and install the Bullrings.)

The six anchor points (three on each side) in the Ford bed are covered with a plastic insert that easily pops out. Unfortunately the HF anchor points didn't fill the space so IMO they looked awful when installed. What I did was carve out the needed rectangle in the plastic insert with a dremel tool and then reassembled the anchor point with the insert, then installed them. The result looks OK and works (for now). Eventually I'll get the Bullrings.

That's fine or start a new thread is good, too..

Sorry Howard, the open hole alone looks like garbage (IMHO). Your installation looks much better.

Back several moons ago when in college, the guys I worked for did truck paint jobs and outfitting on the side (mostly totaled truck rebuild, drive, the sell for profit) and they would use something similar to https://www.autoaccessoriesgarage.co...ries-Bed-Rails for us to use as tie down points. Remarkably using 3/8" 12 strand rope it would grab the chrome and not slide as easily as you would think. https://www.homedepot.com/p/T-W-Evan...-128/205326962

Even cotton sash chord (somehow it showed up for free at work ) would not slide on the polished chrome. https://www.homedepot.com/p/T-W-Evan...0-05/207048368
