  • DuraFlap mudflap install 2022 F350 SRW

I ordered the following models for my truck. 14"W by stock length. stock width is 12"
    https://duraflap.com/product/ford-mu...-style-ff8-17/
    https://duraflap.com/product/ford-mu...l-less-fr9-17/

At first I thought I needed the extra long, but the kind folks there recommended the stock length and they are correct. If you belong to any of the Ford Forms and cand provide the form name and your user name you can use the coupon " member " for 10" off. Just ask the nice folks when you call.

Why did I choose DuraFlap? Back in 2004 when I got my last truck they were recommended by the folks on a Ford Diesel form. They were not drill-less then. but went on easy and held up very well. I think the new drill-less ones are good too. The down side is the instructions could be improved, so watch as many YouTube videos that you can. It took 3 hours for the first front mud flap and 15 minutes for the second. The trick is to get one of the center fender bolts started then rotate the flap and secondary clips in place. As I have the optional inner wheel well covers I had to do some shimming to get the upper clips in place. My new trim tool kit came in handy again. Having someone with skinny hands would also help.

Second tip - before installing get some larger fender washers as the bolts tend to pull into the adjustment slots. Tomorrow I will be added larger stainless steel washers I have (just need to find them) when I make the final adjustments
    OK the pictures

ID:	86858 That's actually 1/2" or a bit more clearance at the tight spot. My old 2004 was 1/4 inch.

On a side note. Being under there I was amazed at how Beefed Up the new drive train and suspension is compared to my 04 F350. The axle is massive on this truck. It also looks like the mounting brackets for a sway bar are already in place. Ill wait on that until after my first tow, and then probably order Ford OEM parts unless there is a better option.

          Yep
Best advice yet.....I have many day trips planed - Hoping SWMBO will want to go along, but busy with Church stuff. I'm thinking I need to look up Alton Brown, and DDD and the other food Chanel hot spots in Colorado and just set out to try them all. What do folks think of that? I am a little intimidated on driving the beast giving the nuts out there right now. I guess the only way to get over it is just drive.
