Has anyone seen this? I may be trading in a few years this time, rather that waiting 18 years. . Most of the tech is over my head, but I really like the camera with the tailgate down.

I am also curious about the HO 6.7 I guess the numbers are going up. Its getting insane
Too bad they don't show the new interior, but the seat looks interesting in that is lays flat - great for the power naps or overnight. Wonder if the active message works in that mode?

I saw Bigtruckbigrv did a youtube on it. The tailgate down tech is a smart move. He also said there would be 2 diesel 6.7 available, a standard and a high output version.
The Chevys revealed a few days ago and I understand the GMC will reveal in a little over a week.
I liked the addition of the 10spd with the gasser but honestly I think the new Allison is a miss. The lack of a dipstick or electronic fluid level tech is big with me and the spin on filter being gone is just unforgivable. Frankly I like the 6L90 thats in my 2021 and dont feel strongly that the 10 spd would be of much benefit. I was able to add a dipstick to my trans so that greatly increase the ease of maintenance.

Cool new features (in my opinion):

-360 cameras for trailer that will be shown on truck screen.
-side steps behind cab and on rear bumper (like on GM trucks....about time)
-Bed scale for real time pin weight.
-Pro Trailer Hitch Assist. I know, not needed. But oh so cool.
-camera on top of tail gate to provide rear view when tailgate is dropped

I get the concern over the lack of a dipstick where i would want one too even though its not needed. My 6L80 6 speed has not leaked a drop since new in 2015.

-Programmable upfitter "switches" in the main center display now. They still retain the physical upfitter switch in the ceiling console, but you can also control/program them into the main center display. Very cool.

So what are the numbers now? My 2018 cummins is at 930ftlbs tq. Which is already overkill imo. 1100, 1200?

Ford hasn't released the numbers yet.

I'm curious if the HO version will be as durable/reliable as the "old" versions. I think Cummins did it right with the standard output and HO versions. I'm guessing the standard output is much more reliable over time than the HO....

Well, mine is the HO version that why the 930 rating. I don't think the HO impacts the reliability of the engine...it's the transmission. I'm not familiar with the Ford tranny's but for Dodge they use the 'in house' heavy duty 68RFE for the standard version Cummins and the Aisin AS69RC commercial medium truck trans for the HO version Cummins. The Aisin is bulletproof. 68RFE...not so much.
Ford is probably doing something similar, arranging for, or engineering, a stout trans to put behind the HO version.

My 2021 now has a dipstick, turns out the last year they used one on a 6.0L with the 6L trans fits perfectly.
For me its the serviceability, having to fill a trans from the port in the side is a PITA. Anyone that doesnt have a lift and a fluid pump is at a disadvantage. Now that mine has the dipstick I can refill the trans through the traditional means of pouring down the dipstick. Topping off a trans through a side port while the trans is at operating temp and the truck is running is no fun, those cats are flaming hot.
Its these little things that make maintenance more difficult than it needs to be, like cheaping out on a rear end by not putting a pipe plug in the bottom of the diff. Now I have to pull the cover to drain it. Turning a 15 min job into over an hour.

Any comments on the ride from new owners or in the literature, specifically passenger side of an F350? My 2013 F250 rides like a truck, unlike my previous 2009 F150. The DW doesn't like the roughness anymore and i know that comfort and "feel" are subjective. I usually don't need much reason to go truck shopping but if the passenger side ride hasn't improved then there's no reason.

I beileve it was in '17 that the SuperDuty started sharing the F150's cab. The ride in my dually is better (and quieter) than the '13 Honda Odyssey Elite we also own. For most long trips we opt for the truck over the van!

Test drive a new(er) version of your truck -- you'll be amazed. Heck, you could have driven mine at the rally.

                            I agree Truckster.

Provide customers with what they want. Its a simple philosophy that just works. My truck has 99K and I've had the trans flushed and filled one time where I hardly ever look at it. But to your point, many like to do their own service and manufactures should accommodate that rather than to save .50 cents on a dipstick.

For the power and torque topic, torque is increased by additional pressure acting on the pistons. If the lower end components are carefully designed to handle this pressure, then the engine should be reliable. This is why I'm so against tuners since only the manufacturer knows the true limits of the vehicles components.

Power is calculated from torque and RPM. Scott is spot on where the driveline components must also be able to handle the increase in torque. If the driveline cannot handle full throttle at launch, the manufacturer will torque limit the vehicle under those conditions.
