Posting link for the Boring-Smith foam: https://boringsmith.com/p/convenienc...t-p8hhjq69b94a its $9.68 for 24oz; I don't know what the shipping cost is though. Also this will need a special applicator gun.

I read somewhere not to use the Home Depot expanding foam (GREAT STUFF Gaps and Cracks, LOCTITE or similar) where there is vibration or exposure to sun. Supposedly it can get brittle very quickly. However someone else said in a post here that they used it with no problem. In any case GD apparently uses Boring-Smith.

I could not find the Boring-Smith anywhere with a google search. Another option may be https://www.amazon.com/Great-Stuff-9...36&sr=8-1&th=1
or http://Great Stuff 99054816 Black 12 oz Multipurpose Insulating Foam Sealant
These appear to be specifically made for RVs.

DAP makes a product as well: https://www.amazon.com/40440-Landsca...66&sr=8-4&th=1

I also ran across "Touch N Seal Black UV-Resistant Polyurethane Gun Foam Spray Sealant" in my searching.

I still don't know what I'm going to get but thought I'd post for the benefit of others.

Since nobody else has jumped in, I'll give you my limited experience. A couple of years ago I touched up the OEM foam with this:

I really should have used something more RV specific, but this stuff adhered well, and is still on the trailer. YMMV.

I have been using the BoringSmith foam for a few years now. Its great stuff. Managing the foam gun is the tricky part. It is also a strong adhesive. Its closed cell so does not absorb water like most of the great stuff does and does not degrade in sunlight. The stuff will stick to anything so wear gloves.

I usually use the Great Stuff pond and stone, its black and meant for wet places, and available at home centers here - so its what I go with.

Forum moderators are not GD employees--we are volunteers and owners presumably just like yourself. Unless specifically mentioned otherwise, we have nothing to gain should you choose to purchase a product or engage a service we discuss on this forum.

I tried to get it directly from them but couldn't. When I tried to set up an account to order online I got the following response.

"Thanks for your interest in creating an account on Vallen.com. Vallen has revamped our business model and are currently
unable to approve your customer application based on the information you provided."

I contacted GD for recommended options and got the following
"In regards to the inquiry you made recently (spray foam), feel free to contact our retail parts division for the specific brand of
spray foam that production utilizes. With that said, any type or brand of spray foam is suitable and can be purchased locally."

So I ended up using the black multipurpose foam (/www.amazon.com/this item). Its closed cell and worked well. The photo on the can even shows a RV. Furthermore, it seemed to be stickier than the standard great stuff foam. My application never sees the sun so that wasn't a question for me.
