I am new to the site and Xplor trailers. I wanted help about the minimum size of generator I can use for the trailer. I don't plan to run everything in the trailer at teh same time. When the land power is out its just to run the A/C and to help charge the batteries along with the solar. I have been told that a 3500 was the minimum and today I was told that a 2200 was running the same trailer's A/C unit and some lights. I thank you in advance for the help. Sorry for posting in the other location..

First off, may I suggest taking a moment and read the Welcome Letter to New Members at https://gdrvowners.com/forum/main-fo...to-new-members The letter has a lot of information to orient newcomers to the forum so they learn quickly how to navigate and find information.
Most important will be the link to the Forum Use channel. There's a lot of "How Tos" there, and based on your question you'll want to look for the Searching the Forum thread.
The reason I'm providing that info is so you can find the many generator-related threads that are already here on the forum. For example, here's a thread I posted on what I chose (and why): https://gdrvowners.com/forum/operati...r-model-100402
Hope this helps somewhat. If something isn't clear fire away and either myself or another forum member will clarify.
Again, welcome!

Welcome to our owners technical forum.
A 2000 Watt generator will "probably" run your AC but won't have much left for anything else. It will be lighter and quieter. A 3500 Watt generator will run the AC more easily and will have extra capacity for other things. It will be heavier and quite likely will create more noise. Lots of things to consider . . .
If you use the search tool in the upper right corner on words like "generator" you will find previous discussions on this topic that may provide answers to your questions. This would be a good one to start with https://gdrvowners.com/forum/gdrv4li...imagine-2970rl

What are RVers using for a trailer jack if you need to change a flat? Will my F150 scissor jack work? I kinda don't think so but I haven't pulled it out to give it a try. I used one of my floor jacks several months ago and it barely lifted the axel. We are going on an extended trip and want to be prepared.John and Lori

I don't know what you have for a floor jack and how you are lifting it, but with the 3500 lb axles a 2 ton floor jack should be able to lift 1 side with no issues unless you are overloaded.
I have a cheap bottle jack from Tractor supply in the camper along with the truck jack as a backup most truck jacks are over 2 ton). I think my bottle jack is 5 or 10 ton and cost under $30. I do jack directly under a u-bolt and need to look at making me an adapter for the top so I can spread the load over the axle better.
As for your floor jack, you may need to check and top off the fluid level. I've had to top off one of mine as they tend to loose a bit of oil over years of service.Joseph

Something to remember is the if you are planning to use a bottle jack to lift a flat tire . . . it will have to be very short to get under the axle (assume that the rim will be sitting on the ground). A work-around for this is to roll the remaining tire on that side, up on to blocking to get enough height to get the jack under the axle with the flat tire.

I vote for a bottle jack instead of a floor jack. Not just as a space saver, but the floor jack may not work well on a soft road shoulder or a graveled RV space. Second Cate & Rob on using leveling blocks to get the flat high enough to get the jack under it, and Terry and Patty on a saddle for the top of the piston (there are several threads here on making your own saddle and commercially available saddles)John

We’re carrying the Trailer-Aid “Plus”. Although we haven’t had a flat we tested our 22MLE and it lifts the wheel off the ground just enough to spin it. I also carry a couple pieces of plywood in case I need a little more lift.

I had ordered a Trailer Aid standard size when I first got the fifth wheel. After trying it out to lift a tire, it did not work so I returned it. Having to add wood blocking or even going with the next size up just did not make sense for ease of storage and weight. A simple bottle jack and cradle such as the Bottle Jack Buddy take up less space and is easy to use. For more complicated repairs, I do also carry 2 jack stands.1 PhotoVivian
