Newer member here, looking for information on swapping out my factory shackle non greaseable bolts to a wet / greaseable version. If anyone has any insight or part number reference would be appreciated. Thanks !

I'll leave the specific response to your question to those here with much more knowledge on this topic. I'm sure they'll be along soon.

This note is just to say "Hi" and suggest checking out the Welcome Letter (linked off the home page). How to add your rig to the signature line is mentioned in the letter, too.

    Again, welcome!

There are numerous threads on replacing wet bolts. MorRyde has several HD kits that include the shackle and wet bolts depending on your suspension measurement. Use the search feature and type in wet bolts. https://www.morryde.com/products/hea...y-shackle-kit/ https://www.etrailer.com/s.aspx?qry=shackle+kit

This is my thread on replacing my axles and shackles, including the tools I used. https://gdrvowners.com/forum/operati...t-step-by-step I found the ball joint press a huge help in doing the job, but a big C-clamp can also work.

A word of caution - I believe you stock bolts have a knelled section below the head. Do not spin this as it will ruin the hanger hole. Take the nut off and press the bolt out. There are numerous U-Tub videos showing folks with a big impact gun spinning the bolt - not how to do it.

Hope this helps get you stated

Thanks ! I was hoping to just be able to swap out the stock bolts for the wet version. Good call on the serrated fitment. They will definitely have to be pressed or driven out.

When you install the wet bolts, make sure the grease exit hole on the shank is oriented to either the 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock position so grease can easily enter the diameter clearance.

You can do that too - just get the correct bolt length. However you will need to replace the plastic bushings.
