  • Mopeka Pro Check sensors with Cerbo GX

Because the Mopeka Pro Check sensors work directly with Victron Cerbo GX, I replaced the older generation Mopeka sensors that came with the cheap display (and kinda worked sometimes) on the bottom of the 2 propane bottles.

Followed the directions in the Cerbo manual, and had it all setup in about 30 minutes (mostly due to capacity settings confusion on my part).

The Cerbo recognized the sensors right away and now I have a more accurate level indication on the Touch. No need for the cheap Mopeka display, and they work with the Mopeka app on the phone.

This makes me want to install new sensors on the holding tanks to display on the Touch......maybe next year.

Well there is another project for me I guess and more $$$$$$. If you can do it in 30 mins it will probably take me 2 hours.

In case you can't find the settings for your propane tank, here is a chart for you. You will need these configuration settings for the Venus OS.

        Here we go again $$
Any chance of the Mopeka parts numbers (where to get) and what else is needed and a picture of where they plug into the CERBO.

        Thanks

It's just the Mopeka Pro Check sensor. If you have steel LPG containers (like most the RV world) get the ones with magnets on the bottom. If you have aluminum containers (eurpoe I believe) get the ones made for aluminum.

THey are battery powered so no need to run wires, and they communicate via Bluetooth with the Cerbo, so no need to run wires there either. BUT....you may have to get a USB Blurtooth adapter for the Cerbo. In the Cerbo manual it lists compatible devices. I bought this one off Amazon : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V1SZCY6...t_details&th=1

You just plug it into one of the empty USB ports on the backside of the Cerbo and it does the rest. THe reason for this is that the built-in adapter shuts off of the Cerbo exceeds about 104 Fahrenheit. If you get an external adapter, you will always have Bluetooth with the Cerbo (it won't shut off if it gets hot).

This is the Sensor on the Mopeka website:
            https://www.mopekaiot.com/product/mo...r-tank-monitor

To install just follow direction in the Cerbo manual for the Mopeka sensors.

Also an FYI...Mopeka does sell water holding tank sensors as well that will work with the Cerbo. However these sensors will not work with grey or black tanks as the solids in the fluid will give a bad reading. I think for this I will be adding the Tank 140 and some See Level sensors.

I run these on mine and they're great. I'm really happy with the upgrade. The tank levels report bank to VRM, and you can set alerts which I find much more customizable than what the Mopeka app gives you.

I'm waiting for the Seelevel integration to evolve to go that route for tank monitoring, the Mopeka ones look nice, but don't work as well with the black as the Seelevel ones. They're getting there too, they have two interfaces that work with Victron but both currently have downsides. The number of accessories has definitely exploded in the last year.

                    Keith,
Consider getting the version with the mounting ring. <oops--wrong URL>
Go to the 9:12 mark in this linked Changing Lanes video for why: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9HWs8uQhn8

Here is the link to my install if anyone is interested:

                      https://gdrvowners.com/forum/operati...on-venus-cerbo

howson I ordered those to install on my tanks, but they were backordered. I had them shipped to the house so they wait until I make it back up there mid March.

Howard the description is for water holding tanks not propane - are the sensors the same for both? Sorry I am a bit confused. One thing I will do is check my propane tank bottom before ordering - thanks for the tip?

On edit - I think this is the correct one https://www.amazon.com/Mopeka-024-20...ts-Aluminum/dp for propane tanks

There is a different one for the pro propane sensors. I have not seen them in a kit like the water sensors:

I'd recommend the halo's as well. The aluminum supports that come with the kit suck - half of mine broke on first trip. The halo's work very well.
