A Victron Smart Shunt will have a temp wire on it. It is external meaning you connect it to a battery post. The Cerbo would have temp possibilities also.

On this Victron charge controller, there is a small connector to the right of the wiring connections. Is that for a remote temp sensor?
Scott - You do know that Amazon is not an authorized reseller. You could have warranty issues if there is an issue. These folks www.continuousresources.com are and can probably answer your question They are an authorized dealer. They also have a much better price $128.35. As Allen mentions it is for the VE.Direct cable that goes to Cerbo.. Now if you get a Cerbo GX unit and tie it to the the MPPT and have the temp sensors on the GX you can program the charging temps if I remember correctly. You would do that using the Victron Connect app on your phone. I hope I have this right

Thats right. You define a network in the Cerbo and can share information between devices. Then you can use the temperature sensor in the Shunt or Multiplus to tell the other sources (including the solar controller) to shut off charging below a certain temperature. Keep in mind this will not affect the factory converter, 7 way plug to the truck, or any other "non-Victron" charging sources.

Hmmm...just about any other brand MPPT charge controller has remote temp sensor capability without buying more kit.....
The Victron gear is really meant to be paired with a BMV or Smart Shunt to get the most out of it. Another option would be their Smart Battery Sense, I have never used one but I think it would do what you want. I have enough other charge sources in play that I would not want or trust something outside the battery to manage temperature cut off. I would want my battery BMS to handle it.

Well temp sensing isn't a deal breaker, just like to thoroughly investigate stuff I'm thinking of buying. Seeing as I'm done with the Starlink conversion stuff..it's ordered-just got the router, rj45's, wall connectors..waiting on the power supply and poe....it's too cold to work on the trailer anyway (-24*)...so gotta buy stuff for the other 'in my head' project.
Now, because there are a lot of you very solar competent here, (I'm a newbie) I want to make sure I have this right, a 30A mppt can be hooked up to 400w of panels, right? And if I feel I need more power at some point in the future, I can get another 400w of panels, another 30a mppt and have both controllers feeding the same battery bank...right? Not right?
Thanks in advance for the feedback. Awesome bunch of people here.
