  • Trailer TPMS Setup: The Ford trailer TPMS valve stems fit the OE LionsHead wheels (I have read reports that these do not fit some trailer wheels). The owners manual has confusing information on linking to the trailer TPMS sensors. It describes a process done with the key in the on position but the engine not running. This does not work for the trailer sensors. The truck must be running (and connected to the trailer harness) to find the trailer TPMS setup screen. A Ford TPMS tool works so you don't have to release tire pressure to initiate a signal to the receiver.

    Yoda Hi Keith
You were wise to include the LED head lights in your truck build. I did not do this ($1200 Cdn option cost ) but wish that I had. Recently driving some dark country roads has proven the base lighting to be rather disappointing. There are aftermarket LED bulb options for the base headlights that I am exploring.

I found the same thing with my 2019 RAM 3500 that the standard lighting is not that good. Waiting for my upgraded 2022 due to a crazy deal that saw the dealer give me what I paid for the 2019 in trade in plus $7K off of the new order truck. I ordered the LED headlights for this exact reason. I sure hope they are better than the base ones.

      • Cate&Rob Rob, I put in a set of Xenon Depot bulbs in the 2004 GM I have. Much better lighting just from a simple bulb swap. You might want to give something like that if there are bulbs you can change as it's a relatively cheap un-invasive option. https://www.xenondepot.com

The other option (quite expensive) that a lot of people seem to like across the board is https://www.morimotohid.com

        • High end replacement for those that want to convert. I use their head light LED fan cooled bulbs and their replacement fog lights which are amazing.

Just saw your same link Joseph. These folks aren't cheap but they are the best.

          • I went with the LED option on my 2019 after having halogen on every truck before. I'd gotten used to having HID BiXenon on the last few cars we'd had and swore if they ever upgraded the truck lights I'd jump on it. Where I travel in the winter for camping or snowmobiling it gets dark early age not much light. The led lights are awesome and make a huge difference.

            • I had the aftermarket Ballast box HID's in all 3 of the 2004 lights. Bad thing is they would get cold and need a few seconds to light up when swapping from high to low or the other way. This created a safety issue, so I modded it a bit and did an ALL ON thing where everything would be on with the highs. After a few moons started having issues with the ballast boxes and instead of replacing, I went with XenonDepot low replacements and standard in the highs. The LED are bright enough I almost don't use the highs any longer. Do want to upgrade the high's and fog's to the LED's, but not high on the priority list as I only use that vehicle mostly to travel to and from the hunting lease.

No issues with the Morimoto LEDs Joseph. I could have just installed their LED fog lights alone since they made a huge difference but went with the LED bulbs as well. They come on instantly but I can hear the fans taking time to spin up in the cold. Not an issue since the temp is not up. Interesting on the fans....they are bearing-less and are fully suspended.

I really appreciate you guys picking up on what was really just a sidebar comment to Keith about his wise decision to get LED lights on his new truck.

The sites that you guys linked appear to offer only complete headlight assemblies for the Ford Superduty. (And these cost more than the factory option that I should have gotten )

I actually kind of like the full headlight look of the base Ford lights and would like to replace just the bulbs. I found this site https://www.f150leds.com/collections...250-super-duty with good reviews and good videos on the replacement process. Your thoughts ??

Although . . . Ford makes it difficult with a diesel Superduty, since the grill and headlights have to be removed to get at the bulbs. (As an aside . . . I thought that headlight and tail light bulbs had to be changeable without tools . . . what happened to that requirement ??)

Looks like a nice kit with IP68 and custom wiring harness for the Super Duty. Compatible with the LED lights too.

A lot better than the KC kit I had in the past. https://www.kchilites.com/2-c-series...iABEgLvqPD_BwE

                          Rob,

The bulbs should be serviceable but these days nothing looks easy to work on.

You may want to call Morimoto . Also if the Fogs have not changed from the one listed for the 2020 F350 SD, those alone will make a big difference to compliment your current headlights.

                            Hi Jim,
Would it make sense to change out the “fog” lights, but rewire them to come on with the high beams instead of the low beams?

                              Rob,

After selecting the fogs lights, my GM truck will also turn off the fog lights when the high beams are selected then turn the fogs back on when the low beams are selected. I believe the thought is if the driver wants high beams then fog lights are not needed. This however was flawed thinking since the headlights lights were inadequate on my MY15 GMC in both high and low beam. Since most driving is done on low beam and its unlikely you will be driving over them while towing I would suggest you use the fogs while using the low beams. These Morimotos are extremely bright and will not cause issues to on coming traffic.

The next step for me was to buy the Morimoto LED headlight bulbs where not having the fog lights on high beam was not an issue.

Fair warning I am unsure of the legality of this, but I have made this modification on my last few trucks prior to the 2019, and it does make a big difference. Also it used to be that the fog light would take a low or high beam headlight bulb (I forget which), same socket so they dropped right in. This coupled with running them with the high or low beams made a huge difference in light output.
